Sofar review.
A Shenzhen inverter and battery maker selling in Australia since around 2016. Sofar is growing quickly, but it had all its inverters taken off the Clean Energy Council list in 2018 after one failed compliance testing.

Sofar inverters
#5 of 9 inverter brands
Decent budget inverters that are growing fast, with local support. Its 2018 compliance problems are long past but worth knowing, and installers rarely pick it for their own homes.

Home batteries
Sofar batteries
#8 of 9 home battery brands
A budget battery with a full 10-year warranty for typical use. Specs are ordinary, so it's mainly about price.

Sofar grid-tied inverter (sold by Fortends)
Inverters sold 1 July 2016 to 21 February 2018. Not a range we list.
The inverter could exceed voltage limits and might not switch off when required. The distributor stopped trading, so owners pay for an installer to correct the firmware settings.
